Shevon Porter

Shevon is a DeKalb, Illinois native and NIU alumna. More than an alma mater and workplace, NIU is a foundation in her family. “My parents met at NIU, my husband’s parents met at NIU and I met my husband at NIU.”

It’s a special thing to be able to help someone begin their college journey. For Shevon, her favorite part of her job is “the moment when something I say about Northern lights up a student’s eyes.”
