Ethan Wybourn

Ethan is an NIU alumnus, and works as a freshman admissions counselor. He has first-hand experience with some of their challenges. While at NIU, he changed majors within the communications department and added a minor in journalism, and was able to successfully navigate the process and graduate on time.

Ethan came to NIU as a first-generation college student from Warren, Ill. He understands what a big, and exciting, step starting college is. “Hearing students’ stories and helping them pursue their interests and passions is what makes being an admissions counselor that much more fulfilling,” he said.

He encourages students to find what they are passionate about. Which for him means being constantly on the lookout for new hobbies. His newest interest? He’s a self-taught, at-home tattoo artist.
