Electric Vehicle Charging Stations

Electric vehicle (EV) charging stations are located in the west side of the parking garage drive-up ramp and also in the Visitor Lot, both located off Carroll Avenue.

ChargePoint Level 2 Chargers (Located in parking garage)

A ChargePoint CT4000 Series Level 2 charging station, is a single unit with two charging connectors which allows two vehicles to be charged simultaneously. It charges at a maximum rate of 25 RPH (miles of Range Per Hour), and stations can fully charge some vehicles in less than four hours. Additional information for using a ChargePoint station can be found on the ChargePoint website. The charging fee is $0.25 per kW hour.

Swtch Level 3 Chargers (Located in Visitor Lot)

Three dual port Swtch 60kW chargers provide six total charging ports. Simply scan the QR code located on the charging port to start your session. Additional information about these charging stations can be found on the Swtch website. The charging fee is $0.40 per kW hour.

Various payment options are available for charging sessions. No special permit is required to charge an electric vehicle, but payment must be made and the vehicle must be in charging status while parked in an EV charging space. Once a vehicle has been fully charged, the vehicle owner must remove the vehicle from the charging station parking space so that others can utilize the chargers. After a 30-minute grace period, an overstay time fee of $7 per hour will be assessed to vehicles that remain plugged in but not in active charging status, in order to encourage availability.

Violators who park a vehicle in a charging station without charging are subject to a $100 ticket and having their vehicle towed off campus.
