61st NIU Allerton English Articulation Conference

For over sixty years, the most welcoming conference for English and writing teachers in an intimate, collaborative setting.

In cooperation with Northern Illinois University Continuing and Professional Education and the statewide Allerton Planning Committee, NIU's Department of English is pleased to announce the 61st annual Allerton English Articulation Conference, to be held Thursday and Friday, April 16-17, 2026.

The Allerton English Articulation Conference, now in its seventeenth year of NIU sponsorship, brings together faculty from two- and four-year colleges, universities and high schools for discussions, idea sharing, networking and co-mentoring and takes place at the Allerton Park and Retreat Center in Monticello, Illinois. Our two-day format will include plenty of opportunities for collegiality, networking and woodland walks.
