External Funding up 19% for Fiscal Year 2014
NIU faculty and staff secured $36 million in external funding for Fiscal Year 2014, a 19% increase over Fiscal Year 2013.

US Department of Energy to Require a Data Management Plan
Beginning on October 1, 2014, the US Department of Energy’s Office of Science will require a Data Management Plan as a component of all proposals submitted for research funding.
New OMB Uniform Guidance
After December 26, 2014, Principal Investigators will notice some changes to their grant proposals and to the business practices governing the administration of federally funded awards.
