Angie Dreessen
Director
Angie Dreessen has a Bachelor's of Science degree, with a Social Sciences major with a focus on secondary education as well as a Master's of Science degree in Educational Administration and Foundations from Illinois State University. Throughout her career in higher education, she has worked in several areas within the field of Student Affairs including academic advising, residential life, leadership, programming, activities, and Greek affairs among others. Prior to working in higher education, Angie used to be a high school social sciences teacher. Outside of work, Angie enjoys spending time with friends and family and traveling.
Kristney Vaulx
Graduate Assistant
Kristney is originally from Kankakee, Illinois. She graduated from Eastern Illinois University with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology in 2004. She is currently a graduate student here at NIU pursuing her Masters degree in Adult & Higher Education. Before coming to Northern, Kristney worked as a counselor for three years at a domestic violence agency in her home town of Kankakee. She is also a mother of two who enjoys spending time with family and friends, and shopping!
Jody Danna-Hoehne
Student Coordinator
Jody is originally from Elgin, IL and graduated from Elgin High School in 2008. He is a junior majoring in Actuarial Science with a minor in Finance. To put it simply, Jody likes to be involved on campus. He is currently a member of Delta Chi Fraternity, Actuarial Club, and would also like to get involved with the Student Association. This past summer, Jody had an internship at the Public Building Commission of Chicago where he worked in the Finance department. In his spare time, Jody enjoys being socially and physically active.
Kasey Twine
Student Coordinator
Kasey Twine is currently a junior majoring in Communicative Disorders. After graduating, she will pursue a Doctorate in Audiology. Kasey is Treasurer of COMDSA (Communicative Disorders Student Association) and volunteers regularly at the Pay It Forward House. She enjoys learning, writing and community service. As a Student Coordinator, Kasey hopes to warmly welcome newcomers to NIU and help familiarize them with the campus.
Melanie Francia
Student Coordinator
Melanie is originally from the northwest side of Chicago, and graduated from Lane Tech College Prep in 2008. She is pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Health with an emphasis on Health Administration and minor in Business Administration. This past summer, she had an internship as a health administration intern at Rush University Medical Center in the Stroke Program. As an off-campus student, she is actively involved on campus as an executive board member of both Alpha Phi Omega and Southeast Asia Club. She is ecstatic to work with off-campus and non-traditional students and help them achieve a successful academic career!
