Mary Myers

Mary Myers brings a wealth of knowledge with her when she meets her daily challenges as Career Services’ new Associate Director of Campus and Employer Relations. Before coming to NIU, Ms. Myers was Waubonsee Community College’s Career Services Manager for the past five years. Her duties included the successful oversight of three career resource centers, located in Aurora, Illinois, and neighboring communities. Mary also managed numerous grant-funded projects that were designed to enhance the skill level of special populations within the community college district, as well as provide experiential education offerings for students who attended Waubonsee. 

Her affiliation with varied organizations such as the River Valley Workforce Investment Board Service Delivery Committee, the Greater Aurora Chamber of Commerce Business Education Partnership Committee, the National Associations of Colleges and Employers, and her experience as Past President of the Illinois Cooperative Education and Internship Association, show students the value of building partnerships as a tool for success. These relationships, along with her MS degree in Adult and Higher Education from Northern Illinois University, and a BS degree in Textiles, Clothing, and Merchandising from the University of Kentucky, provide proof that Mary is a valued addition to the department.
