Residence Halls Scheduling and Use of Facilities and Food Service Units

[Procedure]

Residence hall facilities primary purpose is to house students during fall and spring terms. The scheduling and use of residence hall facilities during the period between the end of the spring semester and the close of summer session, commonly referred to as summer operations, is contingent upon availability and subject to the following provisions:

  • The needs of the students involved in the academic enterprise have been accommodated.
  • Northern Illinois University faculty and staff sponsored activities will be given priority for available space when reserved and scheduled through the established processes.
  • Non-university organizations utilizing residence hall rooms for the purpose of supporting university approved activities may be reserved and scheduled as space permits.
  • Northern Illinois University reserves the right to alter reservations and scheduled use of residence hall facilities as deemed appropriate to support the institution during summer operations.
