  • Are you Vote Ready?

First time and seasoned voters all need a plan before casting their ballot. Make a plan and get prepared to go to the polls. There are flexible options to make voting work for your schedule and individual needs. Take a few minutes and develop your voting plan.

  • Know Where to Vote.

The Vote.gov provides a very clear overview for voting as a college student and will answer many of your questions about registration and voting. As a college student you have a unique opportunity to choose where you want to vote. If you are going to college in a different city than your hometown, here are things you might consider when deciding where to vote:

    • Which location is more convenient for you?
    • Who is on the ballot in each place?
    • Are there local policies or issues that are important to you in either place?

You must vote wherever you are registered to vote. If you are registered to vote in your hometown, you will need to travel to your hometown to vote in-person or request the absentee ballot in advance. If you plan to vote in DeKalb, you will need to update your registration. Check to see where you are registered, and make a change (if necessary)
