Creating a landscape you can eat.
Creating a landscape you can eat.
Illinois is full of farms. Yet most of the food consumed in the state isn’t locally grown. By installing gardens throughout the NIU campus, we strive to improve our community’s access to sustainably-grown hyper-local produce.
We bring NIU students, faculty and staff together with local residents and businesses to learn, practice and benefit from food system innovation. In addition to fresh food, our gardens provide opportunities to volunteer, engage in hands-on learning and conduct research.

In order to thrive, we need the support of campus and the community. Whoever you are, there’s a way to get involved.
