Hamed Alhoori, Ph.D.

Associate Professor

Hamed Alhoori’s research develops trustworthy and explainable AI methods for science, society and decision-making. As director of the DATA Lab, he leads an active research group, has mentored more than 60 students, and has authored more than 60 peer-reviewed publications. He teaches courses in generative AI and large language models, bringing emerging AI topics into the classroom. His interdisciplinary projects apply AI to problems in scientific research, health, manufacturing, policy, social science and education, with external support from federal agencies and industry partners.
