Associate Professor

Biagio Palese researches the intersection of artificial intelligence and human behavior, with a focus on human-AI interactions, chatbot systems and the organizational implications of generative and agentic AI. His recent work examines how individuals perceive and engage with AI-powered systems, including his award-winning study, Not All AI Chatbots Are Created Equal, recognized at the Academy of Management Annual Meeting. In addition to his research, he is committed to making AI and data analytics accessible to students, teaching practical coding skills in R and holding certification as a Tidyverse trainer through Posit. He also collaborates with colleagues across NIU to better understand student perceptions and use of AI, helping prepare future business professionals for an AI-driven world.
