Operations Services

Emily Hochstatter, director, Risk Management and Administrative Initiatives

The office of Operations in Administration and Finance supports university-wide sustainability. The office is responsible for operations management, which includes strategic planning, implementation and assessment. To guide these activities three frameworks are used. Lean Six Sigma Method for Reengineering projects aims to eliminate mismanagement of resources, time, effort and talent. The second, the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) is used to improve the identification of opportunities and threats and effectively allocate and use resources. And finally, Collaborative Networks for all initiatives broaden participation in shared governance and organize coordinated information and criteria for systemic improvement. Risk Management, both insurance and compliance, is also a function of the Office of Operations. Enterprise Risk Management (ERM), which helps ensure a safer living, learning and working environment for the university is also handled by the Operations Office staff.
