Membership of Nature Preserves and Research Committee

A.     The Nature Preserves and Research Committee shall consist of nine members:

        Four faculty members from the departments of Anthropology, Biological Sciences, Geography, and Geology, appointed by the president from nominations
        submitted by the college council of Liberal Arts and Sciences. No department shall have more than one faculty representative on the committee. Appointed
        members shall serve three-year staggered terms.

        One student chosen annually from the graduate students majoring in one of the above departments shall be selected by the student advisory committee of the
        College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.

        One student chosen annually from the undergraduate students majoring in one of the above departments shall be selected by the student advisory committee of
        the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.

        One member from the Physical Plant recommended annually by the director of the Physical Plant.

        The director of the Lorado Taft Field Campus.

        The chair of the committee shall be a member of the staff of the executive vice president and provost chosen by the provost.

B.     The committee shall sit in an advisory capacity to the office of the executive vice president and provost on policies relating to the maintenance and utilization of
        the noncampus nature preserve areas under the aegis of the university.

C.     The composition and duties of the Nature Preserves and Research Committee shall be reviewed by the University Council every four years (last review was
        2000-2001). As additional properties are acquired by the university or as there is an expanded use of the properties, representation may be altered.
