Online Teaching Symposium - Call for Proposals Extended to April 13
Submit a proposal by April 13 to join a panel of NIU faculty and share your experience teaching online at the Online Teaching Symposium. You can also register to attend the Symposium on June 1, 2018.
Mark Your Calendar – Fall 2018 Teaching Effectiveness Institute – August 16 and 17
The first day will focus on the Fundamental Principles of Teaching Effectiveness, and will feature NIU faculty and staff. We are excited to have Dr. John Zubizaretta of Columbia College on Friday, August 17 to speak about teaching new generations of students and using critical reflection to enhance student learning.
Blackboard Collaborate Ultra Adds Phone-Only Option
Participants can now join Blackboard Collaborate sessions using their phone to call in, without joining the web conferencing session.
Did You Know….? Accessing a Portal to Blackboard Collaborate
NIU departments, organizations, committees, and communities can request a free Blackboard Organization (Community) from DoIT, to use for meetings, presentations, training, and much more.
Faculty Development Recognized with Effective Practice Award
The NIU Faculty Development and Instructional Design Center was recently selected as a recipient of an Online Learning Consortium Effective Practice Award for Designing Personalized Online Teaching Professional Development Through Self-Assessment.
