The NIU Student Health Insurance Waiver Process
will be available from

July 19, 2012 through September 10, 2012

NIU has redesigned the waiver process to help simplify it for you!   How?

• You’ll have your own login area with your own password to enter waiver information, check status, attach additional documentation, and make corrections if needed
  
  
• Access information will be sent to your NIU email after you have been billed for the NIU Student Health Insurance. 
  
  
• If you have lost the email, please contact our office – 815-753-0122 or email: studentinsurance@niu.edu – to have the link resent.
  
  
• You’ll still need your current health insurance card to complete the waiver form
  
  

After you submit the online waiver form:

• NIU will still verify the information you enter onto the waiver form.  
  
  
• If your waiver request is approved, you will receive a confirmation with three to five (3-5) business days.  The insurance fee will be removed from your bursar’s account after the confirmation is received.  Please keep a copy of the confirmation for your records. 
  
  
• If your waiver request is unable to be verified, you will receive a notice within three to five (3-5) business days, that we need additional or corrected information from you.   Please contact the student insurance office at 815-753-0122 for more information.
