As we all move forward to having a successful undergraduate career, I would like you to consider the fact of getting involved. Being involved in student organizations teach many lessons, and life skills that are sometimes not learned in the classroom. I encourage you all to challenge yourselves, embrace diversity, and become individuals of change.
Take the time to get involved, and maximize your college experience. You can do this by choosing your path, and setting your goals. When you choose your path and set your goals, you will have a map to navigating you towards earning your degree. Knowing where you are going is important and these two simple tips, coupled with the support of great faculty, staff, and fellow students at Northern can get you there.
With a path in mind and your goals in hand, I encourage you to think about Northern Illinois University as a new world to explore and discover. So take control of your college career, I wish you luck in your endeavors and remember—it is all up to you.
We thank you for all the support.
Sincerely,
Jarvis K. Purnell
Student Association President
