Student Psychological Association (SPA)

Membership in the SPA is open to all majors. SPA's meetings are held every other week during the Fall and Spring semesters. One major event sponsored by the SPA and Psi Chi each fall is "Meet the Faculty," a social event for Psychology faculty and students. Information about SPA's meetings and events is posted on the SPA bulletin board located across from the 1st floor elevators in the Psychology building. SPA's faculty advisor is Dr. Anne Britt, who can be reached at britt@niu.edu.

Meeting schedule for Fall 2009 (Room 103 from 5:00 to 6:00 pm):

  • Friday, Nov 13th: First undergraduate research conference (Co-sponsored

Psi Chi

Membership in Psi Chi is open to Psychology majors with an overall GPA of 3.0 and a Psychology GPA of 3.25. Students are eligible if they meet the GPA requirements and if they have completed at least 8 credit hours worth of Psychology coursework at NIU. Psi Chi's meetings are held every other week, and information about the schedule of upcoming events and meetings is posted on the Psi Chi bulletin board located in the lobby of the Psychology building. Psi Chi's advisor is Dr. Katja Wiemer, who can be reached at katja@niu.edu.
