Summer Housing

Staying on campus and looking for summer housing? We offer summer housing in New Hall East.

To sign up, fill out the summer housing contract and bring it to the Residential Administration Office starting on April 18, 2017 in Neptune East 101, Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 4 p.m., where you will also select a summer room.

Students who are:

  • Newly-admitted students: You must be fully admitted to the university and be enrolled in summer classes in order to sign up for summer housing. You will need to provide the contract above along with a check or money order for a $125 housing prepayment. You are eligible to live in summer housing starting with session 1 (see below).
  • Current students, but not living on campus: You must be enrolled in either spring 2017 or fall 2017 classes in order to sign up for summer housing. You will need to provide the contract above along with a check or money order for a $125 housing prepayment. You are eligible to live in summer housing starting with session 1 (see below).
  • Current on-campus residents: You must be enrolled for either the 2017 spring semester or the 2017 fall semester. You are eligible for the Spring-to-Summer Transition Session (see below) in your current spring room. You will move to your summer room on May 16, 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. You do not need to submit a $125 prepayment.
  • Summer athletes: Sign up through Athletics to be assigned a space.
  • Housing employees: Submit your information through your supervisor to be assigned a space.

Contract Periods and Room Rates

You have several options for the length of your stay. The later housing sessions are only available to summer residents who have signed up for a fall 2017 room on campus.

Spring-to-Summer Transition Session

Saturday 5/13 through Tuesday 5/16 (3 nights)  •  $126

If you are a spring 2017 resident, you can request this transition housing. On Tuesday, May 16, from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m., you will move from your spring room to your summer room in New Hall East. Follow the steps above for filling out the contract and returning it to Residential Administration, being sure to select "spring transition housing" option.

Session 1

Tuesday 5/16 through Sunday 6/18 (4 weeks, 5 nights)  •  $1,386

This session runs from the end of the spring semester until the beginning of the summer session.

Session 2
Summer Session

Sunday 6/18 through Saturday 8/12 (7 weeks, 6 nights)  •  $2,310

This period runs through the end of the summer session. Check in on 6/18 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

If you don't have a fall 2017 room, you must leave by 8/12 at 3 p.m.

Session 3
End of Summer Session

Must have a fall 2017 room

Saturday 8/12 through Friday 8/18 (6 nights)  •  $252

You will move to your fall room on Friday 8/18 from 12 - 5 p.m.

Session 4
Fall Early Arrival

Must have a fall 2017 room

Friday 8/18 through Friday 8/26 (1 week)  •  $161

Location

All summer rooms are located in New Hall East.

  • All floors are coed with standard quiet hours and standard alcohol policy expectations.
  • Adult conference groups and other guests of the university may also occupy the building at various times during June and July.
  • If you move in at the beginning of summer session 1, your room will have just been vacated. We'll be working hard to prepare the room for check in, but we may have to delay painting and some minor repairs until the end of the summer.

Optional Meal Plan

You may sign up for an optional summer meal plan. You will receive 50 meals for $350 that you can use at any residential dining location open during the summer. Note that there may be some days during the summer when hours are limited or no location is open.

Summer-to-Fall Storage Option

If you live here during the summer and you also have a fall room, you can register for summer-to-fall storage to move your belongings to your fall room on Saturday, August 12 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. You won’t be able to stay in your room or keep your room key past 3 p.m. on that day. There is no charge. The deadline to register is 7/19 at 4p.m.

If you do not register, hall staff may not be available to give you access to your fall room.
