Project Title: Tumor specific boron doped silica nanoparticles for use in BNCT

Overview: The use of boron doped silica nanoparticles with Boron Neutron Capture Therapy (BNCT) is a relatively new endeavor. The silica nanoparticles are going to be attached to sugar moieties in order to transport the nanoparticles to the cancer cell. This project will also be investigating the viability of thiosugars and Stevia as tumor specific drug carrier.

Chris on what being a Research Rookie means: “Research Rookies is a program that allows you to get more experience and make you more appealing to graduate schools. It eases the transition from undergraduate to graduate school.”
