Positions will be available for the 2010-2011 academic school year.

If you’re commuting, living off-campus, or are a non-traditional student, you’re not alone. Commuter and non-traditional students make up a large portion of our student body. We understand, however, that being a commuter and/or non-traditional student presents many challenges. To help provide programs and services for this large population, we are looking for a few key student leaders to serve as Student Coordinators. This position entails program planning, outreach, marketing, a little research, and office duties. Serving as a Student Coordinator is a paid position (minimum wage) and offers ten hours of work weekly.

Testimonies

This section is dedicated to people who have been employed in the Off-Campus & Non-Traditional Student Services office and want to share their experiences with others.

Mike Orescanin - Former Student Coordinator

Mike Orescanin"Working as a student leader for Off-Campus and Non-Traditional Student Services has given me first hand experience in how to serve members of the student body that may not be aware of the privileges and resources that are available to them during their college career. It has been a unique and fun environment during the course of planning events and through the simple tasks and duties associated with being a part of this department."

Natasha Thomas - Former Student Coordinator

Natasha Thomas"Working with individuals in the Off-Campus and Non-Traditional Student Services office has been a very rewarding experience. As a student leader, I had the opportunity to interact with students and help out with any questions, concerns, or suggestions they had. Planning events was a breeze with the gracious help of the wonderful staff here in the office. This experience has been a stepping stone to future opportunities I will have here at NIU."
