Career Counseling

Professional counselors assist students and alumni with all aspects of the job search: establishing a career plan, preparing a résumé, identifying potential employers, and a variety of other career-related concerns. Mock interviews can also be scheduled to help in your preparation.

To make an appointment:

  • Stop by Campus Life Building 220 or call us at (815) 753-1641.

If you have a few quick questions or want someone to review your résumé, a walk-in counselor is available at the following times in Career Resource Center in Campus Life Building - Room 235:

  • Summer (June 4th - August 10th)
    • Monday through Thursday - 8:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
  • Fall and Spring Semester
    • Monday through Friday - 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

There is NO counseling fee.

Current students and alumni are asked to send any questions or comments to careerservices@niu.edu.
