The Sport Club program is designed to serve individual interests in different sports and recreational activities. Participation in the program enhances and promotes the element of good sportsmanship, the development of sports skills, the well-being derived from physical activity, and the social aspect within each sport. If competition is desired, opportunities exist in varying degrees within individual clubs.
Sport Clubs are organized and managed by students, and must be registered student organizations within the NIU Student Association. Sport Clubs are a great way to gain leadership experience, travel to other universities for competition, get involved on campus, learn a new sport, or Campus Recreation currently provides support to 16 clubs, with sports ranging from aikido to rugby to water polo. Each club is open to all NIU fee-paying students, faculty/staff, and alumni members.
