Hello, Huskie families!
I hope you'll reach out to your student about their plans for the weekend, and remind them to read this week's message about being safe and smart on Halloween! They also recently heard from me about getting involved at NIU, and the countless outlets on campus for Huskies.
Please get in touch with them to check in on their holiday and everything else ahead.

Is your student ready to enroll when class registration opens next week? Here's everything you need to know, including how to make sure there are no holds on your Huskie's account.
In addition to proof of vaccination against COVID-19, students will be required to submit their immunization records, as mandated by the state of Illinois, in order to register for classes.
Maybe your Huskie is getting ready for graduation? Here are the details for their ceremony.

Support for students beyond academics
|
|
Do you know the Huskie Food Pantry is available to all enrolled students at NIU? Another resource opening just this fall, the Huskie Closet, will make free clothing available to our pack.
If your student is struggling to face any concern, they should call on our caring staff at the Center for Student Assistance at 815-753-8300 or studentassistance@niu.edu.
The CSA offers a variety of services, and can help your Huskie make a plan to meet their individual needs.

Ways your Huskie can prepare for a career
|
|
Huskies who take advantage of the free workshops, fairs, internships and job postings through Career Services will graduate ready to jump into the workforce.
We'll get your student started by helping them with their resume, building LinkedIn skills and introducing them to opportunities through countless Career Services events.
Not sure where to begin? Advise your Huskie to make an appointment for a career checkup, advising, a LinkedIn profile or resume review, or even a mock interview.
I hope you have a wonderful November as we head toward winter break and a new semester.
Go Huskies!
