Ad Hoc Committees

In addition to the work of its standing committees, the Supportive Professional Staff (SPS) Council conducts business through ad hoc committees. Most ad hoc committees work on specific projects or issues, including research projects and event planning. Some of the usual ad hoc committees include:

  • Survey Committee (plans, distributes and evaluates SPS climate surveys).
  • After-hours and Between-hours (plans social networking events).
  • Grievance Committee (developed SPS grievance procedure and worked with university Grievance Committee).
  • New representative annual orientation.
  • Network (plans an informational event for new SPS employees).
  • Planning committees (works on campus events such as the Wellness Fair and Benefits Choice Fair).

Other ad hoc committees have addressed a variety of issues, including:

  • Researching liability for faculty advisors to campus student organizations.
  • Planning for move-in and move-out processes for residence halls.
