To help you avoid becoming a victim of a phishing attack in the future, the NIU Office of Information Security has assigned you a short training course on phishing via Blackboard. The course is titled: Information Security Awareness Training: Phishing, and it will take around 35 minutes to complete. At the end of the course, there will be a short quiz. You will need to score 100% on the quiz, but you can take the course as often as needed.
Below are directions to access the training via Blackboard:
- Visit https://webcourses.niu.edu
- Log in using your student NIU email account (ZID@student.niu.edu) and password.
- Once in Blackboard, click on Organizations and select Information Security Awareness Training: Phishing.
- Select Content in the upper menu bar.
- Click on Information Security Awareness Training: Phishing in the middle Course Content area. From there, you will see the content for this training. Click on each link to access that section.

- SANS Security Awareness Video: Top Signs to Spot a Phish

- Phishing Quiz – Must Receive 100%. Unlimited chances and time allotment.
