Complete Your Application

Don't keep us waiting...

We are excited to send your admission decision to you, but something may be missing. If you haven't heard from us yet, below are some common items applicants forget.

High School

You can ask your high school counselor to send your official transcripts as a PDF from their school email address to admissions@niu.edu.

College

You can request your official transcript from your college' Registration and Records office and have it sent directly to us.

If you're applying for admission in 2020, your official ACT or SAT scores can be sent directly from the ACT or SAT websites. Official documents usually take 1-2 weeks to appear in your file after they've been requested.

Scores also are accepted as official if they are printed on your high school transcript.

If you're applying for admission in fall 2021 or later, you don't need to submit your ACT or SAT score. Read more about test-blind admission requirements for fall 2021.

If not already paid with a credit card at the time of your application, your $40 application fee can be submitted by check or money order. You can either drop it off in person or mail it to our Office of Admissions at:

Fee waivers based on economic hardship can be submitted using our waiver forms for freshmen and transfer students.

You can email a clear, legible photo or scanned PDF of both the front and back of your permanent residence/green card to admissions@niu.edu . You also can either bring the card in person or mail a photocopy to our Office of Admissions at:
