Located in the heart of DeKalb-Sycamore’s growing “health corridor,” the NIU Family Health, Wellness and Literacy Center offers skilled diagnostic, treatment and therapy programs for people of all ages. The Center houses specialty clinics offering a wide range of services in speech, language and hearing, physical therapy, primary healthcare and literacy.
The NIU Family Health, Wellness and Literacy Center is housed in the former Monsanto Corporation headquarters at the corner of Bethany and Sycamore Road in DeKalb, and features more than 65,000 square feet of newly-remodeled, state-of-the-art clinical space. United by a holistic approach to health and wellness, the Center’s four main clinics provide interrelated services under one roof -- eliminating multiple trips to separate facilities and ensuring access to a full range of diagnostic, therapeutic and treatment options.
The Center also serves as a clinical teaching site for a wide range of academic programs. Supervised by experienced professionals, students receive hands-on experience working with clients and patients of all ages and backgrounds. Guided by the Center’s philosophy of multidisciplinary care, the next generation of health, wellness and literacy professionals are learning to “treat the whole person” in an environment designed to make that goal a reality.
