Requirements for Advanced Certificates

Advanced certificates are those that require at least a bachelor's degree for admission and are offered only at the graduate level. Several advanced certificates also require prior certification as a teacher and, in some cases, a specified number of years of experience.

Based on state rules, the following certificates may be issued only at the advanced level:

Pupil Personnel Services (Type 73)

School Counselor

School Nurse

School Psychologist

School Social Work

Speech Language Pathologist

Administrative (Type 75)

Principal/General Administration

School Business Official

Superintendent

Library/Media Specialist (Type 10)

Reading Specialist (Type 10)
