Hello, my name is Tatianne Butler, and I am the 2013-14 Student Association Director of Organizational Development. I am a senior English major and French minor.
Prior to joining SA, I was, and still am, heavily involved in campus and community organizations. My other involvements for this year include my role as a current member and the 2nd Vice President of the Zeta Iota chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. here at NIU. I have been a Writer’s Workshop tutor; a Student Representative to both the English Department First-Year Composition Committee and to the NIU Honors Advisory Board; Vice President of the Stevenson Hall Council; NAACP-NIU Chapter Secretary; Community Outreach Director for Black Student Union; and a DeKalb High School mentor.
My involvement in organizations has made me well-rounded and knowledgeable in the ways that organizations operate. I will incorporate this experience into my SA position to ensure that students are well-aware of the organizations on campus and their various purposes.
There are so many benefits to becoming actively involved on campus. I would love to see more students take advantage of all that the NIU community has to offer them, so I pledge to always work to find the most efficient ways to make this goal happen.
