Jared Brammer is the Director of Information and Technology for Northern Illinois University’s Student Association, as well as, a Senior Computer Science Major. Mr. Brammer is responsible for the control and organization of all technology needs within the SA. Before coming to the SA , Brammer’s background consisted of internships with NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center, Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory, NIU’s Career Services, and Kishwaukee College’s programming department. Prior to attending NIU and Kishwaukee College, Brammer was in the U.S. Army for four years as a Bradley Linebacker Crewmember. While in the military he held positions as Information Management Officer and Security Officer. He has been able to take his military experience and incorporate it into his civilian positions to more effectively manage the growing field of Information Technology.

Brammer currently holds an Associates of Science, Associates of Applied Scinece in Information Management Systems, and a Computer Programming Certificate from Kishwaukee College. While in the military, Brammer learned that he had a passion for technology and that he wanted to make furthering his understanding of it his main goal. From there he decided that starting at a local community college would allow him to reintegrate himself into the academic and civilian world with more ease then a full time university. After achieving great success at Kishwaukee College he knew it was time to move onto a four year degree. While studying and working at NIU he came to realize that he wanted to be more involved with the campus and the students, and proceeded to do so. He is now Treasurer for NIU’s Pagan Student Association, Webmaster for NIU’s Veterans Club, and a member of various other clubs and organizations on campus. Mr. Brammer challenges all of NIU’s student body to be more involved with their community and their university.

“We lead today so that you can lead tomorrow!”
