Greetings Fellow Huskies,
My name is Jevonte Marshall and I am a Senior Operations Management and Information Systems (OM&IS) major here at Northern Illinois University. I am thrilled at the opportunity to serve as your Director of Information Technology for the NIU Student Association for the second year in a row.
From dance teams to business organizations, I have been involved in many different types of student communities that have contributed to the personality and work ethic I’m currently proud to possess. Presently, I’m a brother of Delta Sigma Pi Professional Business Fraternity where I serve as the Senior Vice President, a student representative on the OM&IS Advisory Board, a veteran member of Supremacy dance team where I served as President for a year, and a member of Delta Phi Delta Dance Fraternity Incorporated. When I’m not fulfilling one of these obligations, however, you can usually find me hanging out with friends, playing video games, or finding new ways to network across campus.
Going into my second term as Director of IT, I plan to expand the position as much as possible. I want the future Directors after me to become more of a voice for the student body in multiple technology related aspects on campus. I plan on doing this by increasing relations between the SA and the Division of IT, taking on a larger role in the Computing Facilities Activity Committee, and reaching out to sponsors such as Microsoft for ways to help better our current applications. These are simply small stepping stones that I believe will lead to a brighter future where students are using collaborative technology functions across the campus with ease and without headaches.
I look forward to the Student Association making this year one of our best!
