My name is Jaclyn Keith, and I am excited and honored to be your Intern Director of Greek Affairs for the Student Association for the 2015-2016 Academic year. Going into my fourth and final year of being a Huskie, I am getting a Bachelors of Art in Communication with an Emphasis in Corporate Communication with a minor in Psychology.
Since my time at Northern, involvement is something I’ve always been passionate about. I joined a Panhellenic chapter, Delta Gamma. Previously, I’ve held Director of New Members as well as Vice President of Communication. Currently I am the President. I am also the Vice President of Order of Omega. I have worked for Orientation and Family connections, being an Orientation Leader and a Student Orientation Coordinator. By having several leadership roles on campus, it has taught me skills that will allow me to succeed in my position for the year. It has also given me a chance to talk to students on a daily basis, hear their needs, and be able to be a voice for them.
In the spring of 2015 I took a Greek leadership class put on by Morgan Brickley, the Associate Director of Fraternity and Sorority Life. The class had all four councils, and I was able to better understand the benefits and needs of Greek life on Northerns campus. After taking this class, it made me proactive about becoming a resource for all four councils. I would love to see more Greek unity on campus, and have each council attend each other’s events. I believe I play an active role in that by bringing students together and allowing relationships among councils to flourish. Along with that, I want to see the Greek community heading in a healthy and ecofriendly lifestyle. By utilizing the resources on campus, I know these tasks will be able to be accomplished.
