Currently working toward his Masters in Community Counseling, Michael received his Bachelors of Science in Sociology from Northern Illinois University (NIU). He has worked with various student organizations here on NIU campus such as Men Against Sexual and Interpersonal Violence(MASIV) and The Black Student Union and he is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated. Michael has served the Student Association in many different facets from a SA Senator to SA Vice President, and now the newly appointed Chief of Staff for the 2007-2008 academic school year. When asked what has been on of his fondest memories of college he stated "getting involved in student organizations especially student government has helped to polish his overall character!"

The Director of Academic Affairs monitors academic policy throughout the university.  The Director serves on the University Council and is the SA liaison to the Faculty Senate and all college councils and department’s student advisory committees.  Additionally, the Director helps plan Student Association events and coordinate with the other Directors.

Currently a junior, she is working on her degree in Biology. She was appointed as Director of Cultural Affairs for the 2007-2008 term.

The Director of Cultural Affairs serves as the Student Association liaison to all cultural student organizations.  As Director of Cultural Affairs she will also be promoting cultural programming and encouraging joint programming across cultural organizations. 

Because she comes from a cultural background she believes that being in this position she can truly relate to what each cultural organization would like to achieve this year.  This is a big part of what she enjoys about her job.

Presently enrolled as a junior seeking a degree in Organizational Management, Brent was appointed to his position in May of 2006, and greatly enjoys the frequent challenges associated with it; additionally, he has considered it a career-altering position, changing his post undergraduate plans so as to enter the NIU MPA program in order to work more closely with matters pertaining to transportation.  He is also heavily involved in several other campus groups and organizations aside from the Student Association, and currently serves on the DeKalb City Council as Seventh Ward Alderman, to which he was elected in April of 2007.

The Director of Mass Transit acts as the liaison between the Student Association, Huskie Line, Late Night Ride Service, NIU Center for Access-Ability Resources, and the DeKalb Metropolitan Planning Organization, DSATS.  In this capacity, the Director of Mass Transit is responsible for the efficacy and operation of the Huskie Bus System, the Late Night Ride Service, the Freedom Mobile Para-transit System, and deals with a myriad of other issues in conjunction with the Student Association Mass Transit Board.

Currently a senior, she is working on her degree in Nutrition and Dietetics. She was appointed as Director of Public Affairs- Editor and Chief of “The Voice” for the 2007-2008 term. Her experience in previous organizations has given her the ability to lead and be confident in her job. She believes that communication is a key factor to success and she will communicate to the NIU student body what goes on behind the Student Association.

The Public Affairs Director-Editor and Chief for “The Voice” oversees the online magazine published by the Student Association. She is also the liaison to all media including the Northern Star, Daily Chronicle, and Midweek.

Is currently working on a degree in English and is expected to graduate in May. She was appointed Assistant to the President in the spring of 2007. Previously she worked in the Student Association as a student secretary and as the senate clerk. She greatly enjoys the fast pace and ever changing dynamics that the Student Association offers. She uses her knowledge of the SA to acclimate new directors to the environment of the office and collaborates with many of the directors on different projects through out the year.

The Assistant to the President is responsible for keeping lines of communication open between the directors and the president. The Assistant to the President sits on the University Council and other committees that the president appoints him/her to.

Is an ambitious, energetic, and light-hearted individual. She is currently a sophomore working toward her B.A. in Communications with an emphasis in Corporate and a minor in Nutrition, Diabetics, and Hospitality Administration.  She has recently joined the S.A. this summer as a student secretary.  She works with over 200 organizations to help answer questions and deliver information to those who seek it.  She enjoys the busy atmosphere of the S.A. office, and the new and exiting experiences that come daily.
