The Director of Academic Affairs monitors academic policy throughout the university. The Director serves on the University Council and is the SA liaison to the Faculty Senate and all college councils and department’s student advisory committees. Additionally, the Director helps plan Student Association events and coordinate with the other Directors.

The Director of Cultural Affairs serves as the liaison between all University committees making minority related decisions and the SA Senate as well as the NIU student body. The Director will also research and recommend innovative programs, service, and new policies to the SA Senate. These efforts combine to increase integration and improve the multi-cultural atmosphere of this University.

The Director of Mass Transit acts as the liaison between the Student Association, Huskie Line, Late Night Ride Service, NIU Center for Access-Ability Resources, and the DeKalb Metropolitan Planning Organization, DSATS. In this capacity, the Director of Mass Transit is responsible for the efficacy and operation of the Huskie Bus System, the Late Night Ride Service, the Freedom Mobile Para-transit System, and deals with a myriad of other issues in conjunction with the Student Association Mass Transit Board.

The Director of Organizational Development assists SA recognized student organizations in the development of outreach activities, publicity, and fundraising. This is accomplished by advising organizations on University Policy, how to obtain corporate donations and supplemental fundung, and how to strategically progress in the areas of recruitment, retention, as well as many more.

The Director of Athletics and Recreation Services monitors the actions of all University recreational bodies and serves as chairperson of the Campus Recreation Council. Significant goals of this position are met through approving the Office of Campus Recreations polices and programs, coordinating campus organizations recreational endeavors, and approving all activities that concern the use of University recreational facilities.

The Director of Greek Affairs is the SA representative to the Greek Life Standards Board and chief liaison between all Greek organizations and the University. In this capacity duties include assisting Greek student groups in critical development, facilitating communication between the City of DeKalb and representatives of the Greek Row area, and supporting commuication as well as activities between all Greek councils.

The Director of Student Life monitors all university bodies of a non-academic, non-cultural, and non-financial related nature. Through these actions the Director communicates activities of all student representatives to student-life related University committees, researches and recommends new student life services and policy changes to the University via the SA Senate, and informs the SA Senate and the student body all of student-life polifices.

The Director of Governmental Affairs is the SA official representative to the IBHE-SAC. The Director also researches legislative action affecting the student body, informs the SA Senate and interested parties of the student body of all legislative matters of student concern, and lobbies all levels of the United States government on behalf of the SA.
