The National Science Foundation has issued new guidance on the statement of broader impacts that is required to be a part of all proposals submitted to NSF.

The National Institutes of Health has implemented a new policy on publications funded through NIH grants. The policy, which goes into effect April 7, 2008, requires "...that all investigators funded by the NIH submit or have submitted for them to the National Library of Medicine’s PubMed Central an electronic version of their final, peer-reviewed manuscripts upon acceptance for publication, to be made publicly available no later than 12 months after the official date of publication..."

As announced in a memo to active NIH investigators dated April 2, 2008, to ensure institutional compliance with this NIH policy, investigators with NIH funding are required to notify OSP as soon as they receive their NIHMS ID and PubMed Central reference number (PMCID). You can e-mail that information to me at the contact information appearing at the bottom of this web page to comply with this requirement.
