OSP Hosts Webinar on National Science Foundation's TUES Program

On Thursday, April 22nd, the Office of Sponsored Projects (OSP) will sponsor a web seminar presentation by Dr. Russell Pimmel of the Division of Undergraduate Education at the National Science Foundation (NSF) on the agency's "Transforming Undergraduate Education in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (TUES)" program, formerly known as the Course, Curriculum and Laboratory Improvement (CCLI) program. The CCLI program has been a mainstay of funding in STEM education, and has recently undergone considerable revision which is likely to make it harder to obtain funding from the program. Dr. Pimmel's web seminar will discuss the changes NSF has made to the program solicitation and the agency's expectations for competitive proposals.

The seminar will be broadcast from 1 to 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 22 in the Illinois Room at the Holmes Student Center. Members of the OSP staff will be present, and will be available for questions and discussion after the seminar has concluded. Slides from the presentation will be posted for guidance on the OSP web site when they are made available by the NSF.

The submission deadline for Type 1--formerly Phase 1--proposals for institutions in Illinois is Wednesday, May 26, 2010; for Type 2 proposals, the next submission deadline is Friday, January 14, 2011.

If you plan to attend, please RSVP to Donna Martin.
