Universities Research Association, Inc. (URA) Announces Visiting Scholars Program at Fermilab

The URA has annonced the next competition of the URA Visiting Scholars Program at Fermilab.  Applications will be accepted through February 29th; awards will be announced at the end of March.

The program is available to faculty and students doing research in areas such as high energy physics experiments, astrophysics, theory, accelerator physics, materials science, and computer science, related to the Fermilab mission.  Proposals may range from attendance at conferences and summer schools to year-long research stays.  Support can include transportation costs, local lodging expenses during a series of short visits, or salary support during an extended visit.  Individual awards may be up to a maximum of $50,000 in 12-month period.

URA makes two rounds of awards each year, in the spring and fall.  The application deadline for the Fall 2012 cycle is August 24th; successful applicants will be notified at the end of September 2012.
