Call for Exhibition Proposals

The The Exhibitions and Visiting Artists and Scholars Committee is soliciting exhibition proposals to round out the Jack Olson Gallery exhibition schedule for the 2011-12 and 2012-13 seasons. The gallery welcomes proposals for exhibitions in all media, including video, installation, graphic design, and illustration.

The EVAS Committee is made up of the Gallery Coordinator, a representative of each of the NIU School of Art's four divisions, and a School of Art graduate student. The Jack Olson Gallery exhibits an average of eight exhibitions annually, four of which are student driven, from late August through early May. Each exhibition has an average duration of four weeks.

Deadline for receipt of proposals

Proposals are due in the Jack Olson Gallery by 4:00 p.m. on Monday, January 17, 2011.

Required Proposal Materials

  1. A one to two page narrative describe the proposed exhibition.
  2. Artists Statement(s).
  3. CV/Resume for all parties involved in the exhibition.
  4. Media Appropriate Visuals (either slides or CD with jpeg images for 2D and 3D work, DVD for video, times, animation, etc.)
  5. Corresponding image list, including artist's names, titles of works, dates, media, and dimensions.
  6. Proposed budget.
