What are the requirements to complete the Certificate?

Undergraduate Certificate in LGBT Studies

    Spring 2005 graduation
  • Twelve (12) semester hours of course work
  • Core Course: ILAS 350: LGBT Studies
  • Nine (9) credits of electives from approved list of courses
  • Students must complete all course work with a grade-point average of at least 2.0 within a period of six consecutive years.

Graduate Certificate in LGBT Studies

  • Twelve (12) semester hours of course work
  • Core Courses:
    • ILAS 650 - Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Studies Credits: 3, and
    • One of the following (3):
      • ILAS 651 - Research in Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Studies Credits: 3
      • ILAS 602 - Internship Credits: 3, or an equivalent internship approved by the coordinator.  The internship experience must include activities related to LGBT Studies.
  • Six (6) credits of electives from approved list of courses
  • Students must complete all course work with a grade-point average of at least 3.0 within a period of six consecutive years.
