H1N1 flu is still occurring in the state of Illinois. Here are some tips to keep you and your fellow students healthy.

Remember the 3 Cs:

·         CLEAN: Thoroughly wash your hands frequently with soap and water (or an alcohol-based hand cleaner if soap and water not available.)

·         COVER: your cough/sneeze with a tissue or sleeve, not your hand

·         CONTAIN: contain your germs by staying home if you are sick

Additional tips:

·         If you develop flu-like symptoms, stay away from others until 24 hours after your fever is gone WITHOUT fever-reducing medicine.

·         Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth

·         Avoid close contact with people that are already sick

·         Eat balanced meals, get adequate rest, and minimize stress.

·         If you develop fever, cough, sore throat, headache, body aches and/or chills contact your physician or NIU Health Services for more information.
