The Nurse Practitioners of Health Services

Nurse Practitioners are Registered Nurses (RNs) who have received additional education, training, and certifications and are qualified to provide primary patient care. They work in collaboration with physicians and other health care personnel.

At Health Services, nurse practitioners and physician assistants provide care in women's health and medical services. Nurse practitioners and physician assistants perform routine examinations; provide birth control methods; screen for and treat sexually transmitted diseases; diagnose and treat upper respiratory infections, asthma, urinary tract infections, and other common disorders. They also order diagnostic tests, prescribe medications, and provide patient education.
