About Us

Northern Illinois University Health Services maintains the highest standards in quality of care and professional ethics. At Health Services, students' individual needs are attended to in a confidential (see Privacy & Confidentiality) and caring manner.

NIU Health Services provides ambulatory medical and psychiatric health care for NIU students to support them in their academic pursuits. NIU Health Services is nationally accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care, Inc. (AAAHC).

Health Services is available to all students, full or part-time, who are registered and have been assessed on-campus tuition and fees. Students may use Health Services whether or not they are enrolled in the NIU Student Health Insurance Plan.

Northern Illinois University Health Services provides high-quality health care and preventive services to eligible individuals, a comprehensive student health insurance program, and advocacy for optimal health within the university population. Health Services strives to meet the demonstrated needs of a diverse student population, in accordance with the core values, vision and mission of the Division of Student Affairs & Enrollment Management.
