Check Your Status
Once you have applied for financial aid, you are encouraged to check on your application. There are different ways to check for different information. Make sure to look at ALL of the following resources:
- Check your NIU Student e-mail for important information regarding you NIU account from the Student Financial Aid Office. This is the account that NIU will use to contact you regarding your financial account.
- Also check the e-mail that you reported on your FAFSA. If there are problems with your applications, you will be notified on this e-mail account from the government.
- You can also check for missing information that the NIU Student Financial Aid Office and the State or Federal Government might need to complete your application and make sure your account is award appropriately. To look for this, please view your MyNIU page.
