Pool Passes

Pool passes are now included with a Campus Recreation membership! Non-member pool passes for open and lap swimming at Anderson and Gabel Hall pools are available.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pool Passes

I am a student. Can I use the pools?
Yes. Students paying fees for the NIU DeKalb campus have access to the pools. Students must present their a current NIU OneCard for admittance to open/lap swim programming.

If I am a Faculty/Staff Campus Recreation member, can I payroll deduct my pool pass?
Yes. Only Campus Recreation faculty and staff memberships can be payroll deducted at this time.

Where can I purchase a Pool Pass?
Passes can be purchased online via our online registration page or in person by visiting the Student Recreation Center during Open Recreation hours.

Can I bring my children/family with me to the pool?
Yes, however, each individual (adult & child) needs a pool pass to use either Anderson or Gabel pools during open/lap swim times.

Each child (17 and under), must be accompanied by a fee paying adult at all times. Each child needs to possess a current pool pass to enter the pool. Children are encouraged to visit during Open Swim times. Lap Swim is held exclusively for lap swimmers.

Where can I park when I go to Anderson or Gabel Hall pools?
Various parking options are available for both Anderson and Gabel Halls. Visit our Parking Information page for more information and parking maps. Except for metered parking, permits are required to park on campus. Please contact Parking Services at 815-753-1045 for pass purchases and any additional questions.

Where are the pools?
The pools are located in Gabel Hall (Southeast corner of Annie Glidden Road and Stadium Drive) and Anderson Hall (Northwest corner of Lucinda and Kishwaukee Drive). For additional information and directions to each pool, please contact Campus Recreation front desk at 815-753-0231.

Can the pools be reserved for private functions?
Yes, past rentals have included birthday parties, group outings, swim meets, scuba classes and other various trainings. For more information please contact the Aquatics Manager at 815-753-9462 to discuss how your needs can be meet.
