Sim Chin- Director

Sim Chin, Director

Responsibilities: As Director of ISFO, I am part of a great team of dedicated, knowledgeable, and helpful staff whose passion is to welcome and help international students and faculty achieve their educational goals at NIU. One of my main areas of responsibilities is to manage all international undergraduate admissions.

What do you like most about your job? Meeting students and families from various countries and cultures.

Interesting facts: Summer is my favorite season; I like to take long walks and listen to music; I have lived in different countries and speak several languages besides English.

Stephanie Brown - Associate Director

Stephanie Brown, Associate Director

Responsibilities: overseeing the advising staff; advising international students in F and J status on federal regulations; developing and implementing programming for all international students; and the Chair-Elect for International Educators of Illinois.

Interesting facts: Hometown is DeKalb, Illinois; Alma Mater is Roehampton University, London; M.A., Human Rights and International Relations.

Arezou Kashani - International Student Advisor

Responsibilities: advising international students in F and J status on federal regulations as well as developing and implementing programming for all international students.

Interesting facts: Hometown is St. Laurent du Var, France and Crystal Lake, Illinois; Alma Mater is The George Washington University; M.A., International Affairs - International Law and Organizations.

Dawn Galbreath - Office Support Associate

Responsibilities: welcoming and assisting international students upon entry into the office as well as managing the front office area; assisting student workers with day-to-day office procedures

Interesting facts: Hometown is Lee, Illinois; Favorite hobby is photography.
