The expiration of an award usually requires the submission of a final financial status report (FSR). These reports are usually due between 90-120 days following the end of the award. Some sponsors have shorter closeout times.
Your SPA Grants and Contracts Associate (GCA) is responsible for submitting any financial reports (including all cost-sharing contributions for the project) required to close out the award.
SPA recommends that PIs monitor project obligations closely, throughout the project period, to make sure all expenditures are accurately recorded to the grant account to allow for a timely and compliant closeout.
