Christine Nguyen, Ph.D.

Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering

Professor Nguyen’s expertise is in the area of large-scale optimization, supply chain, data analytics, transportation, simulation, and scheduling. She has developed many algorithms and models to solve real-world applications in supply chain consolidation of perishable products. She has worked closely with several industries to solve decision problems and performance improvement problems. Her works include, but are not limited to, developing patient transport facilities in hospitals, improving material movement in warehouses and manufacturing facilities, developing simulation models to analyze new policies and procedures in factories, investigate and recommend new packaging procedures for the automobile industry, develop new layouts for production lines, apply data analytics techniques to optimize slotting within a distribution center, and develop predictive models using machine learning. She is interested in working on real-world problems and delivering impactful and prescriptive solutions.
