Next Steps

We hope that between the Virtual Open House and interviews with specific faculty, you have been able to get a good sense of the program and the faculty with whom you are interested in working. After you have completed your interviews please share with us your preferences in faculty mentors by following the link. While you have shared this before, we recognize that sometimes preferences shift as you have learned more.

The faculty will be meeting on Friday, Feb. 24, 2024 to discuss admission decisions and first offers will be made soon thereafter. Because we only make the number of admission offers that we have funding to support, many of you will be viewed as well qualified for our program but will be waitlisted. This is a fluid process; as one student turns down an admission offer, we will make another admissions offer to an applicant until our cohort is complete. Thus, if you are informed that you are on the waitlist know that we think you would be great in the program and there still is a good chance you will receive an offer from us. Keep us informed of your decision making process and we will do the same.

While you have the right to hold an offer until April 15, 2024, based on universal policies, we strongly encourage you to not hold multiple offers (it slows the whole system down). If you get two offers, take some time to decide which you prefer and decline the offer you don’t want to pursue. This allows others to learn they will be receiving an offer. All offers will be made by April 15.

Finally, for those who do receive an offer of admission, if you would like to come to campus as part of your decision process (or after you have accepted), please reach out to the faculty member making the offer and we will work with you to facilitate a visit. We realize this is a big decision and seeing where you will be living can be an important part of the process.
