- Pass a language proficiency exam;
- Complete a one-year (two-semester) college-level language sequence.
Other graduation requirements include completing 40 credit hours at the 300/400 level, including Human Diversity course and the Writing-Infused courses. The Human Diversity and Writing-Infused requirements can be completed through the general education requirements or elective courses.
Students make take MUTC 323 (3 credits, Fall only) OR MUTC 301: Theory V (2 credits, Spring only, alt. years). If interested and available, take MUHL 301 (only offered in Spring, alt. years). Talk with your advisor on how best to earn 120 credits and reorganize your schedule with other required classes based on the semesters in which they are offered.
Notes/Comments: This plan is an EXAMPLE of what a minor plan could look like for a typical student. This should not be used in the place of regular academic advising appointments. All students need to meet with both their Major advisor and the Music advisor each semester to discuss course scheduling. All requirements are subject to change by NIU.
