International Student Identity Card (ISIC) and International Teacher Identity Card (ITIC)

The NIU Study Abroad Office issues ISIC cards to students currently enrolled at any U.S. institution (not just NIU). ITIC cards are available to NIU faculty and staff. These cards provide a world of benefits and services to nearly 3.5 million people worldwide every year. More than an ID card, they also offer:

  •  Discounts to more than 33,000 locations in 103 countries 
  •  Mobile phone and a calling card communications packages (for an additional charge) 
  •  Insurance plan
  •  Emergency help line

In addition to the ISIC Basic, the NIU Study Abroad Office is now pleased to offer the ISIC Premium card. This carries additional insurance benefits, including insurance on your personal belongings when traveling. You can read more about the ISIC Premium here. (pdf)
