

Originally from Sycamore, Ashley transferred to NIU after completing one year of study at Illinois State University. Now in her senior year, Ashley has remained on the Dean’s list since arriving at NIU. She will graduate in Spring 2006 with a degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in preventative and rehab exercise science. Ashley plans to continue her education and hopes to earn a doctorate degree in her field. This is Ashley’s second Dependent Award. She is the daughter of Candy Buie from Human Resource Services at NIU.

Update on Stephen: He graduate from the NIU College of Law in May 2008. He passed the July 2008 Illinois Bar Exam and was sworn in as an attorney in November 2008. These days he is working in DeKalb at the Cosentino Law Firm, LLC. He concentrates his practice in bankruptcy and collections.
Stephen is a 1999 graduate of DeKalb High School. After high school, Stephen attended Northwestern University where he was a Cum Laude graduate with a degree in Communications Studies. Stephen is currently attending NIU’s School of Law and plans to enter the United States Marine Corps Judge Advocate Program. Stephen is a member of a number of professional and collegiate organizations and is the first graduate student to win the Dependent Award. Stephen is the son of Lon Clark from Media Services at NIU and Kathleen Clark from the Internal Audit Department at NIU.
